How to Open a .MKV File
A .MKV file is a MKV File Format. MKV (Matroska Video) is a flexible media container supporting multiple video streams, multi-language audio tracks, and soft subtitles (ASS/SSA). Windows Media Player and QuickTime Player often lack the AC3/DTS audio decoders or Vorbis/HEVC stream splitters necessary for smooth playback.
